Within Manitoba we are fortunate to have a variety of license plates showcasing our support for local sports teams, universities, the Humane Society and other organizations.  Team is excited to offer the latest plate launched last month which supports childhood cancer, specifically a foundation called Madox's Warriors.   Each license plate costs $70, with $30 of that going directly to the foundation.

Team's General Manager, Lindsay Rae Schellenberg and Marketing and Communications Director, Susan Fast had the pleasure of sitting down with one of the founders of Maddox's Warriors, Suzanne Suzio, and CHVN’s Sylia St.Cyr to talk with her on how the plate came to be.  

On March 7th, 2014, Suzanne's 9 year old son Madox was diagnosed with DIPG, now called DMG, a rare brain tumor which is highly aggressive and has no cure.  Sadly, Madox passed away five short months later.  Madox was one of those special kids who was energetic, happy and very kind, always thinking of others ahead of himself.  

After Madox's passing, through dealing with grief and anger, the Suzios put their energy and focus into launching Madox's Warriors, a foundation in memory of their son.  This foundation helps to support families within Canada who are dealing with this tragic disease.  Money from the foundation also goes to help support a specific research team studying this type of cancer.

The Madox’s Warriors license plate launched in June with already over 1000 plates sold, we have plates in stock at both of our locations.  Our Team is honored to have gotten to know the Suzio family, and proud to be able to support them.
