You may have noticed our latest reader panel inviting Winnipeg and area to take part in the annual Calvin Christian Schools Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 28 at the Transcona Golf Club. If you haven’t had a chance to check out the tournament in the past, we’d like to give you the rundown of what will be a fantastic day on the links. The day officially kicks off at 11:30 when we open for registration. Once you’ve signed in and have your bag tagged, you’re free to grab some lunch and take a few practice swings. Come 1:00pm, however, the action will start fast and furiously as we go straight into tournament play. We’ll be playing a Texas Scramble format so even if you have a bad drive or two (or three… not that we’re counting), you’ll be able to depend on your mates to get you through the challenging holes that lay across the well-groomed terrain. Wrapping up the day at 6:30 will be an exquisite banquet, to go along with a prize presentation. All funds raised during the tournament will benefit Calvin Christian Schools, ensuring that quality Christian education can be provided for years to come.
